Home boards are now available to all solutions!
We’re thrilled to announce that Home boards are now available to all workspaces and solutions. These capabilities were previously available only to GRC and ESG customers.
Home boards "live" on your workspace dashboard and provide greater visibility into the work you need to do. Because they're uniquely customizable to your team's needs and processes, each team member can quickly and easily access the information most relevant to their role.
Data Prep
Data Prep activity history is now available in organization activities
You can now view Data Prep activity history in the Workiva organization activities log. This is in addition to the standard activity feed displayed on the Data Prep home screen.
Things to know:
- For US customers, we've backfilled all Data Prep activity history dating to April 1, 2023. No activity history prior to this date is available.
- For APAC and EU customers, we've backfilled all Data Prep activity history dating to January 1, 2023. No activity history prior to this date is available.
- You can retain (or delete) older activity logs by editing your retention settings. By default, activities are deleted after 365 days.
- Data Prep is scoped at the org level, meaning every workspace in an organization shares the same Data Prep instance. Because this is a shared resource, Data Prep activities are emitted only to the organization activities log and will not appear in the workspace activities log.
Chains
Bulk update multiple chain connections
The chain editor now includes a Commands window where you can manage multiple command connections and runners in a single place. This eliminates the need to individually edit each node of your chain when updating connections.
To access the Commands window, click the three-dot menuin the the upper-right corner of your chain canvas. You can then sort your command list by connector type, or select multiple commands of the same type and update them en masse.

Error chips in Workiva-brand connectors
We've added error "chips" to the chain results panel to aid in troubleshooting after a failed chain run. These chips can help you identify the root cause of a failure and determine whether the error was triggered by Chain Builder or the underlying service.
Depending on the cause of the failure, you'll see one of two errors:
- Workiva error - Any error that is the result of an unexpected response from a Workiva API or service. For instance, a run query command calls the Workiva API and would result in a Workiva error.
- Chains error - Any error stemming from Chains' internal systems, APIs, or services.
You can view these chips by selecting a failed node on your canvas:
Please note these error chips will only appear for the following connectors:
View and access subchains from the Monitor screen
A "Run Chain" event allows a parent chain to execute a subchain as part of its operations. It is essentially running a chain within another chain.
With this update, you can now use the Monitor screen to view both the parent chain and the subchain on the same screen. Simply select the parent chain from the Monitor tab and click the "Run Chain" node to view the subchain on the right side.
You can then adjust the zoom or drag the canvas to get a better view of the executed subchain, or click any node in the subchain to open it in a new browser window. This will allow you to edit, view, or run the subchain separately from the parent chain.

ESG
IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards corrected in ESG Explorer
If your ESG Explorer includes the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Sustainability Disclosure Standards (SDS), the content has been corrected to better reflect the content developed by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
Specifically, we recommend you review the Governance section of S1 Core Content to determine whether additional and updated items for S1.27(a) and (b) affect your reporting requirements.
