This article is for:
- Workspace Owners and Org Workspace Admins
In addition to other workspace roles, a Workspace Owner or Org Workspace Admin can assign members of a Sustainability Reporting workspace specific roles to determine their access to features.
Sustainability Reporting role
Access to any solution-specific feature within a Sustainability Reporting workspace requires the Sustainability Reporting role. For example, with this role, a member can access:
- Sustainability Explorer, including CDP Questionnaire (if enabled)
- Sustainability Program
- Sustainability panel within Spreadsheets, Documents, and Presentations
- Sustainability Explorer panel within the Workiva Tasks portal
CSRD, ISSB, or ASRS add-on roles
If your Sustainability Reporting workspace includes an add-on for Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), or Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), a Workspace Owner can assign additional workspace roles to enable appropriate access based on the member's role.

Sustainability Reporting permissions
In addition to roles, Permissions determine a member's access to — or within — specific files and features in your Sustainability Reporting workspace. For example, Permissions specify whether members view, edit, or own:
- A file or sections within a file, such as the Data Collection Spreadsheet or a report Document
- A Sustainability Program, including all its metrics and values
- The CDP Questionnaire or modules within the questionnaire
