Exhibit Linking for documents herewith

We are doing the last steps before filing on Weds. We are working on exhibits. we have to put our new pdf or word files into the exhibit for files herewith. We are all new to the SEC team for our second K. We do not remember what we did last year. Josiah might have walked us through.
We have been following the instructions that we have the pdf file (we have tried word doc also and that won't work either) in a folder within workiva named exhibits. We go into the document. we double click and then add hyperlink and browse for the file and add. we apply. the "hyperlink" is not saving for us. We have the section so it all says that it includes edgar exhibit index. We are really frustrated and running out of time.
Can someone help us?
