NextGen - Freeze documents
CompletatoCan you "freeze" your documents once they are filed in NextGen?
-
Just commenting that this continues to be a HIGH want in Next Gen. I've been in Next Gen for a year and do not like that I cannot freeze the documents after filing. Please add this functionality! Sounds like it is coming this quarter, so adding comment here to follow the updates.
0Thanks, Christine! I got you. 🙂 Your feedback here is appreciated. And yes, we are pushing hard to get this functionality out this quarter.
0Hi, are there any updates on when this will be released? Please also let me know as soon as this feature is available to users. Thank you!
0Hi Mariana!
No new updates to report. This is still on track for being made available this quarter. Definitely as soon as it hits the press, we'll be sure to let you know. We've got you connected on the backend too, and thanks much for your input here. Cheers!
0Hi Mike,
Can you please add our company to the special freeze feature list? Thank you!
0You got it, Wenjun!
0Any updates on this option? No comments on this thread in a while so maybe its available now?? If so, can someone tell me how to freeze the document?
0Hi Ashley!
Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately next gen "freeze" is not yet available. I should have somewhat of an update for you soon, but in the meantime I"ll add you to our list of interested peeps.
Give me a holler if you have are any questions or you need anything else. Cheers!
0Hi all!
As mentioned here, I wanted to update this post and let folks know two things:
- Next Gen "Freeze" will be achieved by a new feature called Lock Edits, and;
- The anticipated timeline for Lock Edits has been pushed back to late-May 2021
We'll keep you apprised of progress along the way. We also will have some beta testing options available in mid-April. If you'd be interested in that, let us know. Thanks for your interest and give us a holler if you have any questions. Cheers!
0Hi Mike Davis! Is the estimated timeline for this feature in May 2021 or Q1 2021? I noticed a couple separate comments that appear to have been posted on the same day that had these two different dates and just wanted to make sure I had it right before communicating to our executive team. I appreciate it!
0Hi Kasey Rhodes. The new timeline for Lock Edits, aka next gen freeze, is May 2021. Thanks for the note. I'll make sure all those are updated correctly 🤜 🤛
0Hi Mike,
Can you please add our company to the Lock Edits list when available in May 2021? Thank you!
0You betcha, Colleen! 👍
0Thanks, Mike Davis! We'd love to be added as a tester, if possible.
0No problem, Kasey! I'll get you added to the list :)
0Hi Mike Davis! can you please add me to be notified when this feature is ready? We would love be a tester as well. Thanks!
0Hi Ines Khouni! You got it 👍
0May 2021 is here, and I'm sure the masses are dying for an update on the target date...
-1Please add me to the list for Edit Locks.
Thank you,
Ami
0Hi Jonathan Dapeer!
I circled back with the team and can confirm we are still on target for a release of Lock Edits this month. The beta process is in full swing, and we are gathering great data and info there for the finishing touches. Once that is released, we'll be sure to keep you updated.
And we've got you connected Ami Riffel.
0Please add me to the list for updates. Really miss the Freeze functionality in Classic.
0Will do, Janet!
0Hey everyone, I was just greeted by a wonderful message when I just signed in...the Lock Editing feature is now available! For more information on this feature refer to the help article here: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055107032-Lock-editing-for-a-file
One item that I noticed (and I can't remember if this was the case for the freeze feature) is that "Destination link updates published from other documents" will still be pushed through the document even if it is locked so remember to also lock your supporting Workbooks and to be mindful of this.
Best regards,
Joe
0Same here, freezing document feature for next gen would be extremely beneificial. I know there is the Lock Edits feature, but that does not prevent the publish of changes in destination links. This is high priority for us. Thank you
