You've beat me to it, Joseph! Indeed, Lock Edits is now available for all users 😊🎉🍾🔒.Thanks for sharing the updated Help article as well.
As you noted, this current release will not lock destination links (or XBRL). This does differ from Classic freeze, but this is part of the next phase of Lock Edits that is being pursued.

At this time you cannot freeze next gen Documents. Our Product Team plans to have this available in early Q1 2020. I've moved this question into our Feedback & Suggestions topic and have connected your request to the appropriate ticket on our end so you can stay apprised. I'll be sure to update you here about any changes and you can also keep your eyes peeled on our What's New topic for the release info too.

P.S. as a workaround, you could be to limit access of other members via document permissions.

This is also a high priority for me!!!
This is part of our SOX control that we lock down our support workpapers for all of our SEC filings. Last week, I mistakenly wrote over a 2019 filing not realizing that the document wasn't frozen. We haven't fully converted to the next gen yet but if this isn't fixed by Q3 2020, then we are not going to move forward with it.

Same here. We are continuing to delay implementation of the Next-Gen Platform until we get the same exact functionality we had in the Classic Platform. Freezing document is considered part of our ICFR controls and is critical for us. Please speed this up on the product development roadmap.

+1 - Same here. Please escalate this on the product roadmap! We will not be moving over until the we have the exact same level of functionality that we have in the Classic Platform available under the Next-Gen platform. That includes this function. Make it happen!

Just want to put it out there that this is a VERY important feature for us as well. We have decided to delay our full transition to as late as possible in hopes that this, as well as the many other functions that have been lost with Next Gen, will be available by then.

Thanks for your interest and input on this request martha Siedler, Michelle Redditt and Keta Patel. I have your requets connected to our ongoing ticket internally. This does remain on our plan to be added to next gen but we've not yet got a timeline for it as of yet, so I can't say what quarter we'll have this made available. As interest continues to rise, we may well see that change in terms of prioritization, so your feedback is appreciated for sure. I'll keep you updated soon as I chat with our Product Team a bit more on this.

Did not realize that this feature wouldn't be available and now we have several filings that will be active post-filing.

In the meantime Margarita, a workaround could be to adjust your document permissions to lock down you filing documents. Happy to help explain how best to do that if you have questions.
