FERC Releases 2023 Taxonomy
Great news! The FERC 2023 Taxonomy is now available in the Workiva Platform and has been enabled on all FERC related Workspaces. Workiva identified issues with the FERC Validations and Viewers after the initial April 5th Announcement on the FERC eForms Refresh page, but those have also now been resolved through coordination with FERC! You will find the taxonomies named as FERC Form XX 2023 within the Workiva Platform when choosing to migrate. For example, if filing a Form 1 or 1/3Q, the taxonomy will be named FERC Form 1 2023.
Should you have a service engagement with Workiva, your professional services manager will discuss migrating your Quarterly FERC Form to the latest 2023 version in the near future. Should you want to migrate yourself, please refer to the following Help article for additional support on performing this migration.
As a reminder, in order to successfully file to FERC, the 2023 Taxonomy is required for ALL Quarterly FERC Forms beginning with your Q1 3/31/23 period end. Annual forms for 2022 or any prior resubmissions must continue to use the FERC 2.0 Taxonomies as denoted under the accepted periods within the FERC provided Taxonomy History page.
We are excited to make available for you the latest technology updates from FERC and are committed to the success of your Quarterly Form filings. Please do not hesitate to contact Workiva Customer Support, your Professional Services Manager, or post questions/comments here in the Community should you have any additional questions or concerns around this new taxonomy update.

Hello, in case FERC Form 3Q filers are not aware, based on what I heard from a peer, there is an issue with the new concept for Page 108/109 Item #12. The new concept, ferc_DisclosureOfImportantChangesRelatedToRespondentCompanyAppearingInAnnualReportToStockholdersTextBlock, is not appearing in the FERC viewer. Workiva has made FERC aware of the issue.
I didn't find anything in Workiva Support about this. Is there a location of known issues that I should be referencing?
Thanks, Lynn
0Hi Lynn,
Thanks for brining this up! Because this issue is a fix that must come from FERC, Workiva doesn't have insight into when this may be fixed. We are watching this issue and following up with FERC as needed. I have created a ticket so that we can track this issue for you, and let you know when there is a fix.
Have a great weekend!
