A recent release to the Workiva Platform included improvements to the following products and features:
Exporting hidden slides
With this release, you now have the option to include or exclude hidden slides when exporting Presentations. By default, hidden slides are excluded from exports.
If you wish to include them in your export:
- Click File > Export.
- Click Include Hidden Slides.
- Choose what to include in your export.
- Click Export.
If exported to PDF, your hidden slides will appear alongside all other slides. If exported to PowerPoint, hidden slide will be marked as hidden just as they are in Workiva.
Reports
Multi-file support now in report packages
Users can now add up to 40 Workiva files in a report package and export them to PDF.
User management
Updates to member management (Classic only)
We are now removing the ability to manage users from the classic member management screens; any new users should be added through Workspace Settings. You can still view which members are being CC’d (carbon copied) on email through the classic screen, but only Workiva Support may update these settings.
XBRL
Locate concepts
In the Locate Concepts panel, the name of the XBRL Outline subsection is now listed for a concept's Presentation and Calculation locations.
Chains
Note: These changes are currently available only to standalone OneCloud subscribers, but will be released to all Workiva users in the coming weeks.
Connections within templates
We built chain templates to be shareable between workspaces, but templates are dependent on both workspaces having access to the same connectors and commands. So if Workspace A shares a template with Workspace B, and Workspace B is missing a connector, the imported chain won’t work until that connector is enabled.
This previously required you to enable the missing connector and then update each command one-by-one – or start the entire import over. With this release, however, you can now set up missing connectors at the same time that you bring a template into your workspace.
Additionally, we’ve added a dynamic notification to the Chain Builder canvas that will notify you when a connector is missing:
Filing
Update permissions in filing forms
We've added the ability to edit permissions directly from Filing forms. Previously, permissions could only be edited on the Home screen.
ESG Reporting
GRI 2021 available in ESG Explorer
From the ESG Admin panel in ESG Explorer, you can now select the 2021 version of the GRI Standards. Relative to the 2020 Standards, this version:
- Replaces GRI 101 2016 with the new GRI 1: Foundation 2021
- Replaces GRI 102 2016 with the new GRI 2: General disclosures 2021
- Replaces GRI 103 2016 with the new GRI 3: Material topics 2021
- Removes GRI 412: Human rights assessment 2016, incorporated into GRI 1: Foundation 2021
- Removes GRI 419: Socioeconomic compliance 2016, incorporated into general disclosure 2-27
The 2021 version of the GRI Standards also introduces GRI 11: Oil and gas sector 2021, which you can download from GRI.
