The following release notes were published in May 2025.

Chains

New: Apply base 64 encode/decode commands (File Utilities)
The File Utilities node now supports encoding and decoding files using base 64.
New: Extract file contents from a template file resource (File Utilities)
The File Utilities node now supports taking a template file and replacing provided keys with string or file contents.
Change: Unique user email address is no longer required for Chains
A unique user email address is no longer required to sign into Chains.

New: New dataset sharing experience
Users can now share datasets contained in Sheets directly to users or groups within their organization.
New: Option to exclude uneditable sheets in batch refresh
A new "cancelUnwritables" field in the API allows batch refreshes to skip locked or uneditable sheets rather than failing the entire operation.

New: Search now supports locating double spaces within documents
You can now search for and remove double spaces to improve document consistency.

New: Style guide outline filtered search
Users can now narrow down visible list styles in the style guide outline by name using a new filter icon.
Update: Import option updates for Microsoft Office files
A single import option now allows for bulk importing and creating Workiva files from multiple Microsoft Office formats simultaneously.

Change: Workiva Generative AI is now Workiva AI
The product name has been simplified to "Workiva AI" across the platform, support resources, and community.
Change: Name changes for Workiva AI knowledge bases
Specialized knowledge bases have been renamed to "Intelligence" sets, such as SEC Filing Intelligence and ESRS Intelligence.

New: New options for reopened assessments
Status Configuration now includes options to route reopened tasks specifically to the first or last reviewer.

Improved: Improved Permissions Report (Beta)
A new report format provides a simplified, user-specific view showing only effective permissions across files and folders.

New: Footnote prefix/suffix included in external translations
Footnote prefixes and suffixes are now included in external translation exports for new projects.
New: Move folders to Trash in one step
Users can now move entire folders, including all nested content, to the Trash in a single action.
Update: XBRL now maintained on External Translations
A new language project setting allows XBRL to be maintained on translated files during the external translation process.

New: Share smart links with user groups
Cross-workspace smart link sharing now supports sharing with entire workspace user groups in addition to individual users.
