From Corporate Regulatory Reporting, you can prepare multiple forms for the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).

Corporate Regulatory Reporting automatically includes the fields and requirements for multiple BEA forms.

Step 1. Start report
Note: Before you start a report, a Workspace Owner must first set up its type to specify its agency and form. To learn more, view Set up Corporate Regulatory Reporting.
To create a report for BEA:
- From Corporate Regulatory Reporting, select Reports.

For the applicable BEA report type, click Add forms to set up the forms for the entities included in the report.
Tip: If your workspace has Workiva AI enabled, it can suggest the applicable BE-11 forms based on each entity's characteristics.
- To begin to prepare the forms' responses, click Start report to specify the report type as well as it start and due dates and imported source files.
Step 2. Import or prepare data
To prepare the forms' responses, you can:
- Import source files to automatically populate fields with data from another application
- Manually prepare responses through direct entry or data collection tasks
To help automate data collection, you can import data for a report — such as from your Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or another source — from Source data.
When you import a source file, you specify its report and map its data to the respective fields of the forms. To learn more, view Import source data for Corporate Regulatory Reporting.
Note: Imported data populates the respective fields of your reports as-is. Perform any transformation of the source data – such as to convert date formats or round large amounts to thousands — before you import.
For fields not automatically populated based on Settings or imported source data, you can manually enter or collect responses from Reports:
Note: To help automate data collection, each report includes a Process. A Workspace Owner must first set up the Process, including its due date, Owner, and default assignees.

To enter responses, select Edit from the form's menu, and complete its fields as necessary.
Note: The form automatically validates responses to ensure they meet BEA requirements, such as for date formats or number ranges and decimal places. If an error appears, edit its response as necessary. For information about a field's required format, refer to its BEA form instructions.
Tip: For BE-125, you can add and remove Schedule entries as blocks within the form.
- To collect responses through the report's Process, open the entity's form, then click Manually collect data to send tasks to its fields' assignees.

Tip: From Reports, you can view how many required fields of each form need a response. When all required fields have responses, the form's status updates to Ready.
Step 3. Generate submission
When a report is Ready, generate its submission files — such as a portable document file (PDF) or comma-separated values (CSV) file — from Reports, then submit them to the BEA.
Note: Submit your report with BEA at least a few days ahead of the due date, so BEA can review your submission and request any corrections.
- Generate the applicable submission files:
- To generate a PDF of a form, select Generate PDF from its Actions, then click Download filing PDF.

To generate a CSV file for a report's submission, select Generate submission CSVs from the report's menu, then click Download submission CSVs.
Tip: To create a ZIP archive the CSVs generated for BE-11, select Generate filing file from the report's menu.

Sign into the BEA eFile System, then submit the files to the BEA.
Note: BEA emails a confirmation when they receive your completed submission. Retain this email as proof of submission for audit purposes.
