On March 16, 2026, EDGAR Release 26.1 will introduce updated validation messages that includes 30 additional rules added to FASB’s 2026 Data Quality Committee Rules Taxonomy (DQCRT). These additional rules will appear as yellow warning validation messages within the Workiva platform.

Additionally, as mentioned in our prior post on filing fee exhibit updates, EDGAR will now generally suspend filings rather than issue warnings for incorrect or incomplete structured filing fee-related information for all filers. EDGAR will continue to issue warnings in some instances.

Along with the release, the SEC will accept the 2026 version of the following taxonomies: 

• US-GAAP and SRT (published by FASB)
• CEF, COUNTRY, CURRENCY, CYD, DEI, ECD, EXCH, FFD, FND, NAICS, OEF, RXP, SBS, SIC, SNJ, SPAC, SRO, STPR, VIP (published by SEC)

The Workiva Product Team has now added support for the 2026 versions of these taxonomies within the Workiva platform.
