Freezing a Presentation
Is there a way currently to freeze a presentation, document, or spreadsheet from updating links when something is final. For example, if I were to roll forward a presentation (month x +1) that is linked to a spreadsheet with Wdata, I have to preserve the links from source. However, the original document (month x) data I do not want updated with changes to the linked spreadsheet. Therefore, I want to somehow freeze the linked data from updating even though it is still linked.
I am also okay with unlinking once rolled forward, but would prefer to not do this for Audit purposes.

I stumbled upon your question and sadly see that it was missed. Terribly sorry for that, and I'm sure you've got your answer by now, but wanted to provide an update since last quarter a new feature to replace "Freeze" was rolled out--Lock Edits. More info on this feature can be found here and here. The version of Lock Edits available today is in it's first phase, and currently does not lock dynamic content, such as links. That is coming, however.
