How do I identify the document owner?
You would think I'd know, but it's not that simple in my organization.

Hey Paul,
You can identify who all is a document owner by clicking Permissions under the file tab within your document. This will show you everyone who is an owner, editor, or viewer. Here's a help article to walk you through that.
If you're looking to find who created the document, if you search for the document name within your home tab, you will see a Created By column that will show you the name of who created the document.
