Discrepancies in header sizes
Hello, I am trying to align the headers in my document. Some have very little blank space in the header (first image below) whereas others have quite a lot. I've tried adjusting the margins and checking for nonprinting characters, but neither solves the issue. Are there other settings that could be causing this and need to be adjusted?

Is this is a table? Did you check the indent?
0Hi Saneen!
Thank you so much for reaching out with your question. I'm sorry to hear documents isn't allowing you to align your headers the way you would like. I went ahead and added a link to a support article describing different steps on how to adjust header sizes:
https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036002631-Add-headers-and-footers
If you look at the top right corner in the help article, there are 4 different topics to choose from. Go ahead and choose "Adjust header and footer size" and it should let you jump down to that spot in the article. If these instructions aren't helping you and you continue coming across the same issue, please don't hesitate to reach out again and we will assist you further.
Thank you.
0Thanks all for your suggestions. I should clarify that the issue is not with the indentation but rather with the blank space after the header. As you can see in the first screenshot, the dotted lines for the next section of the document start immediately after the Table of Contents hyperlink whereas that doesn't appear to be the case in the second view. I've already tried adjusting the section spacing and checked for nonprinting characters. Is there another way to fix this in Wdesk?
0Hi Saneen!
One thing that comes to mind, possibly, is a different Top margin size, unless that is what you mean by "section spacing". For example, if my section on location is set to .5 inches, and 1 inch in others, this could look like that. However, if a section does differ, usually you'd see a Margin Page Break too.
0Thank you, Mike! I was previously adjusting the Top margin size in the Header Properties but needed to align the Section Properties as you suggested above to fix the issue.
0Glad to hear your issue was addressed. 😊 Happy to help. Definitely let us know if you have any further questions or need anything else. Cheers!
