    Hi Marvin,

Thanks for your interest in next generation documents! At this time, the Doc Links feature is not yet there in next generation, but rest assured that it is something our Product Team is planning on adding in, for sure. I'd encourage you to stay tuned for updates by following our What's New topic here on the Community, or checking out this page on the Success Center: https://success.workiva.com/help/next-gen/plan-next/features-transition. We'll definitely keep you aware at those locations.

In the meantime, let me know what other questions you have, or if you need anything else. Thanks, and have a super day!

Mike - following up on this.  I know that there is now the "Linked Files Report" for next gen.  is there more coming, namely the ability to run the links analyzer and hyperlink to where a link exists in a document?  With the linked files report, I only know how many links there are from a given source, but not where they exist in the document.  Didn't see any detail about this on the transition features page.

    Hi Ben!

I just checked with the Product Team on this and we currently investigating adding this feature in. I've passed along your feedback to them and also attached a ticket for you. Should there be any updates, I'd anticipate them to flow into the Feature Tracker page mentioned above, but I'll let you know if I get any more definitive word.

Thanks again and let me know if I can answer any other questions. Cheers!

Being able to see where links live in a document, and where they are sourced from, was a huge benefit of the old "Document Links" feature. Great for rolling forward documents and maintaining data integrity. Quite surprised this wasn't a maintained feature. Please add as soon as possible.

Thanks for your input, Jon. Currently this feature is scheduled to be released in Q2 2020. I've got your request connect with the team and we'll be in touch with more info as soon as we have it. Thanks again and let me know what questions you have in the meantime. Best!

    Hi Ali!

Thanks for keeping me honest here. I did some checking to confirm, and a part of this was released in late May that allows you to create a listing of linked files from the Linked Files Report.

From that created Spreadsheet, you can now view a listing of all the links for a specific file. Does that possibly provide what you are looking for? Thanks again for reaching out. Let me know what questions you have or if you need anything else. Cheers!

Mike So there is a link report we can download to excel but there isn't anything like Classic where we could click on the link itself to make changes?  That was such a critical feature to managing files, I'm disappointed it wasn't a priority in NextGen.

    Hi Mary!

Thanks for the note. I pinged our Product Team on this and don't have much of a change for you. They are looking at a larger data linkage effort, which would include enhancements such as a Doc Links in next gen, but there's no ETA on when that would be released to the platform. I've definitely shared your feedback and interest, and will keep you posted on updates.

That being said, from the Link Report Spreadsheet generated in the Linked Files Report mentioned above, you can directly navigate to the source and destination locations of those links. Here's an example of what that looks like:

Hopefully that helps shed a little light on what's available today. Let me know what questions you have for me in the meantime, and if you need anything else. Thanks for your contributions and have a great rest of your day!

For our whitepapers for stress testing, in previous cycles, I've put together a responsibility matrix for our documentation. I created this is a spreadsheet and the functionality to link Document Sections in a Spreadsheet would be tremendously helpful. Could you confirm this is something the product developers are looking into? Mike
