Able to hyperlink a PDF exhibit?
AnsweredHello,
One of my exhibits for my filing renders best as a PDF. Am I able to hyperlink this PDF within my exhibits or do I have to use a different file format in order to be able to hyperlink.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can hyperlink a PDF within your exhibits but do this you'd need to EDGARize it first. To do this, you need to convert the PDF to an EDGAR HTM file. After EDGARizing the PDF, you can create a hyperlink in your exhibit index using the generated HTM filename. It's important to exclude the original PDF and use the generated HTM and JPG files for hyperlinking. Here's some steps on the process: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036000151-Hyperlinking-the-exhibit-index.
Let me know what follow-ups you have or if you need anything else. Have a great day and happy filing!
0Mike, is it possible to use a pdf, instead of a docx, to file an exhibit with a report? Filing our 20-F tomorrow, so this is an unpleasant curveball.
Thanks,
Barbara
0Hi Barbara!
Yes, from a technical standpoint, it is possible to use a PDF instead of a DOCX to file an exhibit with a report. You would upload your PDF to Workiva filing experience and select the option to "File this PDF as an exhibit." Then, use the generate as drop-down menu to select "EDGAR PDF" and click "Generate Files" to create the edgarized PDF. This would be a single .htm file (your Exhibit) and the pages of the exhibit would be images (.jpg). Does that make sense? Let me know what follow-ups you have for me or if you need anything else.
