We're excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Internal Tie-out Assistant. This initial release focuses on helping customers ensure that numbers are reported consistently throughout a document. Only 10-Ks and 10-Qs will be able to use the Tie-out Assistant.
Note: This Internal Tie-out Assistant Preview Feature is powered by Generative AI capabilities. By testing the Internal Tie-out Assistant Preview Feature, you agree that such Generative AI capabilities will be enabled in your account during the Preview Term and that Workiva's Generative AI Terms of Use shall apply to your use of the Preview Feature during the Preview Term.
This preview invites early adopters and partners to help shape the future of a tie-out assistant in the Workiva platform. The Internal Tie-out Assistant feature available through this program is part of a broader tie-out and agentic reporting vision for the Workiva platform.
What is the timeline?
We plan to make these features available through an Early Access Program (EAP) July 2nd. General Availability will be determined through customer feedback and value realization.
How does the internal Tie-out Assistant work?
The internal Tie-out Assistant will help you to identify all figures within a document and present you with predicted consistencies and inconsistencies and allows for navigation to those numbers.
The internal Tie-out Assistant runs a numerical consistency check across your report. The assistant automatically locates, groups, and matches key figures, identifies potential mismatches, and allows you to add markup to these groups.

How might the Internal Tie-out Assistant help?
Tie-out Assistant is an automated check that helps accelerate your existing tie-out process. You can review AI-assisted matches, override results when needed, and add review notes to document discrepancies, making collaboration and reviews more efficient.
The Tie-out Assistant is designed to transform your workflow by:
- Ensuring accuracy: Customers can file their reports with confidence, knowing their numbers are reported consistently throughout their document, reducing the risk of stakeholder scrutiny and SEC comment letters.
- Saving time: Eliminates the time-consuming workflow of manually checking for consistencies throughout a document. Navigating occurrences of the same accounting concept over multiple pages is now easier.
What is expected as part of the preview?
As part of the preview, you will act as a partner to the Product organization to provide early feedback, evaluate the value of the overall experience, test and adopt features as they become available, and provide a reference to other customers.
Participants will receive:
- Preview access to the internal Tie-out Assistant
- Support from Product and Engineering throughout all testing phases
- Influence over the feature design and development process
- Influence over the Intelligent Finance
Participants should be open to:
- Sign Workiva’s standard Preview terms
- Agree to Workiva’s Generative AI Terms of Use
- Note that this feature does persist output data
- Provide feedback to Workiva on these features on a regular basis
- Serve as a reference to other customers via testimonials and/or Amplify presentations
