Tie-out Assistant helps you review numerical consistency throughout a document. Using AI-assisted matching, Tie-out Assistant identifies related figures, surfaces potential differences, and helps you review reported values more efficiently.
Internal tie-outs focus on consistency within a single document. The assistant compares figures that may refer to the same reported amount and highlights potential differences for review. You can then review matches, investigate mismatches, and document decisions as part of your review process.

Run a tie-out analysis
Use Tie-out Assistant to analyze a document and identify values that may require review. Make sure that you have permissions to edit your file.
To run a tie-out analysis:
- Open your document.
- In the Markup toolbar, click Tie-out Assistant.
- In the Tie-out Assistant panel, click Analyze report to start a run.
- Wait while the Tie-out Assistant analyzes the document.
The amount of time required depends on the size and complexity of the document. However, you can continue your work and will be notified in the app when the results are ready for view.
Review results
When the analysis is complete, Tie-out Assistant displays the results in the review panel.
The review panel contains two tabs:
- Issues: Displays tie-out groups that require review because the assistant identified a potential mismatch or inconsistency. Review these groups to determine whether the reported values should be corrected or marked as verified.
- Verified: Displays groups that have already been verified, including AI-identified matches, manually verified groups, overridden groups, and reference groups such as single occurrences and excluded groups.
Use the available filters and search options, located underneath the Issues and Verified tabs, to find specific results. Select a result to view related occurrences throughout the document.
