From time to time, we get questions as to what the iXBRL format can handle in terms of responsiveness and innovative design choices.
To be able to successfully convert your report to iXBRL, there are a couple of restrictions, however.
Your report cannot contain executable code such as JavaScript
Your report cannot contain outgoing links from the PDF, which means that you cannot include active links to websites for instance, you can however type in URLs for websites, as long as they aren’t used as active links.
In this case, “cannot” means that the functions most likely won’t carry over from your PDF to the finalized iXBRL/ESEF file, but if you would like to test if something works or not, you are welcome to test it in our converter or contact support@parseport.com.
