To help align Australia with International practices for climate and sustainability disclosures, the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) developed the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS):

• AASB S1: General requirements for disclosure of sustainability-related financial information, for voluntary reporting
• AASB S2: Climate-related disclosures, required for some entities based on the Corporations Act 2001

Tip: The AASB based the ASRS on the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Sustainability Disclosure Standards, which are also available for Sustainability Explorer.

From Sustainability Explorer, you can view these Standards, such as to:

• Search, browse, and bookmark requirements to disclose sustainability-related risks and opportunities that could reasonably be expected to affect your company's cash flow, access to finance, or cost of capital.
• Align these disclosure requirements with metrics that collect related values in Sustainability Program.

Tip: To help determine the requirements material to your reporting and identify and resolve any gaps, you can supplement your Sustainability Reporting workspace with additional files for ASRS. To learn more, view Prepare Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards-ready reporting.

Include ASRS in Sustainability Explorer

To include both AASB S1 and S2 in Sustainability Explorer, select ASRS in Frameworks from the Properties settings panel.

Note: Depending on your company's Workiva subscription, you may need to request ASRS for Sustainability Explorer from your Workiva Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Align ASRS with Program metrics

From Sustainability Explorer, you can align the Standards and their respective guidance with Program metrics that collect the related values.

Tip: If you previously used custom Program tags for ASRS, use Find & replace to identify metrics to align with corresponding ASRS content. You can also identify metrics to align with ASRS based on their related IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.

1. From Sustainability Explorer, search for or browse to the ASRS content, then click Connect to program metric link.
   
2. Select or add the Program metric the content aligns with, then click Apply.

Tip: From the Framework indices section of the Factbook spreadsheet, you can prepare responses based on these metrics' values as the source for your ASRS reporting outputs.
