Expanded encryption algorithm support for Snowflake and Carbon connections' private keys
This release updates our use of snowflake-jdbc. The following changes result from this update:
- “Bouncy Castle” Java cryptographic library dependencies updated.
-
grpc-netty-shadeddependency updated to 1.60.0. - CVE-2025-27496 addressed.
- OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) improvements.
- FIPS Compliance: The driver has been enhanced to comply with FIPS standards for data encryption. As part of this enhancement, the driver was tested with FIPS 140-3 enabled using a Red Hat OpenJDK 21 JDBC.
For more details on any of these, please refer to the release documentation provided directly by Snowflake.
Generative AI
Enhanced Audit Logging for Generative AI Interactions in Workspaces
Workiva Workspaces now includes enhanced audit logging for all Workiva AI feature interactions (such as Global Chat and In-Line Chat). This logging improves security, transparency, and support for compliance. These logs automatically record the timestamp, the user making the request, and the AI model used, but do not capture the content of your prompts or the AI responses to ensure data privacy.
This feature is active automatically with no action required from you; Workspace administrators can view these new logs in the Workspace Activities section.
Table Chat No Longer Available
A beta feature called Table Chat that was released to select customers and environments is now disabled and no longer available. This feature previously allowed users to test asking natural language questions of tables using SQL and LLMs. This is being removed and replaced with "Cell Range Inline" Workiva AI support.
Workiva AI can now assist you directly in Tables
You can now directly use Workiva AI to analyze, summarize, or create new content (such as explanatory narratives) based directly on the data in a cell or a range of cells within Spreadsheets and tables embedded in Documents or Presentations.
To get started:
- Open a Spreadsheet, Document, or Presentation.
- Select the cell or range of cells that you want to be considered.
- Right-click the selection and select Workiva AI, then Do something else.
From here, you can tell Workiva AI exactly what you need! Examples include:
- What was the net income for the month of March 2023?
- Find the highest revenue value and the corresponding date in the Financial Statements table.
- Calculate the total expenses for the first quarter of 2023 from the Financial Statements table.
- Summarize the revenue and expenses trends.
- Provide a brief overview of the net income figures over the past five months.
- Summarize the changes in net income.
- Give me a concise summary of the financial data trends in the Financial Statements table.
