There are two types of reminders for tasks: automated task reminders and manual task reminders. Automated task reminders are automatically sent to assignees on a schedule, while manual task reminders are sent manually whenever you want to remind assignees about tasks that they may have forgotten about.

Automated task reminders
By default, automated reminders with default content are sent via email three days before, the day of, and every day for three days after the task due date. However, you can choose to not send any automated reminders at all or customize the reminders according to your personal needs.
Note: You can currently only customize your automated reminders while creating tasks from Home. If you want to customize the automated reminders for tasks that you created in a file, you can do so by editing the task from the Tasks tab in Home.
Note: You can only have up to three automated reminders for any given task.
To customize automated task reminders:
- When creating or editing a task, depending on which type of reminders you want to customize, click on either the Assignee reminders or Approver reminders dropdown and select Custom.
- For each automated reminder in the Email reminders section, choose the Email schedule for when the email reminder will be sent to the assignee or approver. Reminders will be sent once per day according to that schedule at your specified time in the Task details section.
- Fill out the email’s Subject and Body. You can see what the reminder will look like in the Preview to the right.
- You can click on the menu icon to Delete or Duplicate reminders.
- Click Save in the top right to save your custom automated reminders.
Manual task reminders
To manually send a task reminder:
- Find the task in your Tasks list in Home or in the Tasks right-hand panel.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the task you'd like to send a reminder for and select Remind. You can also click the drop-down arrow next to Assignment and select Remind there.
Note: If you've sent a reminder in error, you have a short amount of time to recall it by clicking Cancel in the notification message at the bottom right of your screen.
