GRC
Permissions button in workflow assessments re-enabled
The Permissions button in the Assessments experience for workflow assessments is available again.
This update resolves a blocker that prevented users from granting viewer rights to stakeholders. Stakeholders can now assign viewer permissions to users or groups based on specific conditions.
Note: Automated permissions remain in place. You don't need to use this feature to grant permissions to assignees or reviewers.
Generative AI
User-level access control option for Workiva Generative AI
You can now choose to enable Generative AI per individual users. This means you can control exactly who has access to Workiva Generative AI across enabled workspaces.
- This capability unblocks customers who want access to Workiva Generative AI but require their users to complete training, certification, or other pre-requisites ahead of gaining access to AI-enabled technologies.
- Previously, any user in a Generative AI-enabled workspace could utilize Generative AI.
- Now, Org Admins can simply toggle a setting in the Generative AI Configuration page to “Enable User-Level Access”
- This allows only users with the “Generative AI User” organization role to utilize Generative AI in workspaces with Generative AI enabled.
To get started:
1. Open Organization Admin for your account, or contact an Org Admin if you don't have access.
2. Go to Overview > Configuration > Generative AI > Choose User-Level Access
3. To enable Generative AI by user, change this setting to "Only Users with 'Generative AI User' organization role"
4. Click Save.
You can then go to the People page in Organization Admin and assign the "Generative AI User" organization role to any user who needs access to Generative AI in workspaces where Workiva Generative AI has been enabled.
At any time, you can switch the setting back to "All Users," and the original role assignments will be retained for future scenarios when the user-level access is preferred, eliminating rework on reassigning previously assigned users.
Processes
Customize automated email reminders for process actions
For any action, including actions that have already started, you can customize the automated email reminder schedule and tailor the email subject and body to suit your needs.

For certification actions specifically, along with the new ability to customize the automated email reminders, you can also change the default schedule (now three days before, the day of, and every day for three days after the due date) and email content before the process starts by going to the certification settings in the process properties.

External translations: Retain formatting from original language document when converting to new document
When converting to a new document from the external translation preview, formatting from the original language document will be maintained in all instances.
Previously, if a source link from a spreadsheet had different formatting, the newly converted document would maintain the source link formatting.
