Linking feature limits

To help ensure consistent performance, linking and the developer Application Programming Interface (API)—which enables custom integration to connect your data with the Workiva platform—enforce several limits.

Links per document	200,000 (inclusive of both source and destination links)
Cell destinations per paste	5,000
Range link cells	10,000 per range
Range link destination ranges	20 per source range
Maximum link length	32,767 characters Note: To maintain performance, we recommend text links be kept to a page or less.

Note: The Link Properties panel shows your current link utilization. You’ll see how many links your file uses and the maximum you can have, so you can track usage and prevent issues as you approach the limit.
