A recent release to the Workiva Platform included improvements to the following products and features:

Chains

Fixed: The Publish Spreadsheet command's "Publish all links" option now works correctly

We fixed an error that caused the Publish spreadsheet's "Publish all links" command to publish all links by default— even when disabled. We've updated the command to address this issue, and moving forward:

When checked, all spreadsheet links will be published
When unchecked, only the user's link will be published

Note: If any chains using this command have stopped running since the update, we recommend enabling this option. This will restore the previous functionality and allow the chain to be run with all spreadsheet links.

Charts

Improved Chart Data experience

Chart Data is now its own experience independent of the document, resulting in a smoother and more unified experience with tables. You can now use the following capabilities in Chart Data:

Auto-row resize
Enable/Disable cell overlays (separately from the document)
Additional cell overlay types, in addition to authorship
- Lock cells
- Print area
- Authorship
- Entered in
- Shown in
- Formula precision

Several bugs related to browser refresh have also been fixed.

Documents & Presentations

Fixed: Lines and arrows now rotate properly

Lines and arrows in documents and presentations now rotate properly when using keyboard shortcuts.

Fixed: Authorship overlay hover tooltip now displays properly on floating tables

When authorship overlay is turned on and you hover your cursor over a floating table, the hover tooltip now displays properly to show who updated the cell's content and when they updated it.

Identity Management

Improved security for identity provider and API grant configurations

To prevent unauthorized access and potential misuse of elevated permissions, we've made updates so that now only the user specified in the identity provider and API grant configurations can view and regenerate the client secret.

Integrated Risk

Improved exported file names

When exporting a report, table view, or chart view, the exported file now follows an improved naming convention:

Reports: reportName_todaysDate.xlsx
Table view: reportName_tableName_todaysDate.xlsx
Chart view: reportName_chartName_todaysDate.png

Workiva Platform

Connections are now retained when importing and exporting connected spreadsheets

When importing queries with spreadsheets as sources, connections between the query and the spreadsheets were previously severed and had to be manually reconnected. These connections are now made automatically during import to the new workspace. This eliminates the need to use the broken query tool when all source files are included in your export.

Improved error messaging during login and password reset experiences

Usernames and passwords don't allow spaces or invalid characters. You'll now see improved error messages If you try to include spaces or invalid characters during the login and password reset experiences.

Improved mouse click handling in Documents, Presentations, and Spreadsheets

Clicking content in editors in certain situations is now more consistent and reliable. Issues with URL clicking, attachment label selection, and more have also been fixed.
