In building the app, we were mindful of the different stakeholders involved in handling your most sensitive financial details, and we've ensured our app offers the same security and safeguards as the full Workiva platform.

Security overview
Our commitment to security spans four crucial aspects: customer data, mobile access, user access, and content permissions. The same roles and permissions used on the web also apply to the mobile experience, while your data is handled with the utmost care and responsibility.
Customer data
- All access requires a secure transmission, with network communication encrypted and transferred via TLS 1.2.
- All data is encrypted in transit — and at rest — within the Workiva platform, and no data is stored on your mobile device.
Mobile access
- An Organization Admin account can opt out of the mobile app at any time on a per-workspace basis.
User access
- Access is restricted via the same admin permissions as the web.
- Users removed on the web are immediately removed on the mobile app.
Content permissions
- Permissions and file access are applied identically in the app and on the web.
FAQ
How do logins work?
Your team will log into the app using the same credentials and authentication method used on the web.
What if my organization no longer wants users to access the mobile app?
Your Org Security Admin can enable or disable access on a per-workspace basis. You can also disable access for the entire organization.
When access is disabled, your team members can still download the app, but they won't be able to sign into those restricted workspaces or access any files.
Can content in the app be copied?
Copying text is only available when adding comments or suggesting text changes in comment threads.
Can screenshots be taken in the app?
Yes, but only when using the iOS version. Apple devices cannot block screen captures at this time.
On Android devices, however, screen capture is automatically disabled at the app level. Only a blacked-out image or video will appear.
Can content be exported?
Permission to export files is controlled through the Workiva platform. If a user is restricted from the ability to export a file on the web, that same permission applies to the mobile app.
Can I log into the Workiva Mobile app using the biometrics on my device?
Yes, we call this feature Safe Login and can it be configured through the settings section of your app profile.
