Note: Content requests are currently only available in ESG solutions and in the Data Collection or ESG Compliance add-ons.
Open a content request
After the assignee submits their content request, their permissions are set to Viewer. The approver will then receive an email notification along with Viewer permissions to review their work. The content request also appears in the approver's To do section in the Tasks tab in Home.
To open a content request from an email, click Go to Task to open the content request in the assigned file section.
To open the content request from within Workiva:
- From Home, go to the Tasks tab.
- Find the content request in the tasks list. You can click the View my tasks links, apply filters, and/or use the search bar to more easily find your content request.
- Click within the content request's row to open the details panel.
- Click the hyperlink to go to the appropriate place to approve or return the content request.
To see the content requests that you’ve sent out, click All tasks and apply filters and/or use the search bar from there.
Approve or return a content request
After reviewing the assignee's work, click:
- Approve, and the associated process will continue. Both the assignee and approver will retain Viewer access.
- Return to send the content request back to the assignee for rework. The assignee will receive Editor access again.
If returning the content request, the assignee will get a notification that the content request has been returned and will receive Editor access again. Once the assignee edits their work and submits the content request again, the approver will receive another notification to approve or return the edits.
