Ability to create a source link with View access
已回覆We need our users to link text from documents we don't want them to edit (i.e. they don't own the source documents but must link text from these to other documents for consistency). Currently users with View only access can't create source links. Is this just hte setting on our platform we can amend or ask Workiva CSM to amend, such as the customisation of roles? Thank you!

Yes, your CSM or Workiva Support can assist you in creating a custom role that combines "View" access with the ability to create links. Custom roles are designed to provide exactly this type of tailored permission.
While this self-service configuration is currently exclusive to Workiva Carbon solutions, users on that platform can follow these steps:

Navigate to Custom Roles in your Workspace Settings.

Create and name your new role.

Assign View permissions for the necessary areas.

Add the Create Links permission to the role.
Note: We recommend testing the role after setup to ensure it provides the necessary access without granting unintended permissions.
