Utilisation of Wdata
已回覆Hi, we are currently using Wdata to pull data from our ledger into our excel file in Workiva to feed into our 10Q/K. Currently, how this is built is once we run the chain, refresh the connection, we have a data dump in our excel file in Workiva. We use formulas to organise the data to create GAAP financials and footnotes. The risk with this is formula fragility and manual reconciliations back to our ledger. What is best practise when using Wdata to create GAAP financials and footnotes? Is it possible to organise data without the need of formulas?

Generally a good practice is to shift as much of the logic and calculation into Wdata Queries as possible. This way you reduce reliance on Spreadsheet formulas and minimize manual actions. Queries, especially when paired with Chains and the broader Workiva Data Management Suite, can open doors for adding in additional automation as well as future-proofing for things like roll forwards.
