How to resolve formula errors when using XX as a place holder value?
已回覆When doing our rollforwards we put in XX as placeholders so that it can clearly indicate to readers what is still open. However anywhere that we put XX that there is a formula which is dependent of that amount becomes a #value, there should be a feature or update that allows you to put XX or some sort of character in as a place holder that will not compromise the formulas and will update the formula amount with an XX. Or maybe a way to flag cells as "open" in the workbook/spreadsheet that will show up as an XX in the document and then when you update the value you can flag the cell as "closed" so that the value will appear. We thought about leaving the values blank but then 1. the XXs are a great way to search the document and make sure that you do not inadvertently miss updating something where as a blank is not searchable and 2. if you leave it blank then the value that has the formula still populates and does not appear as an open item.

I use a similar strategy, but I use [●] instead of XX. I add IFERROR to my formulas so that it returns [●] instead of #value. 0
