Using label references for future amortization expense table
已回覆I would like to use label references for my future amortization expense table so that I can make sure that the row descriptions in the xbrl outline match the table in the document. For this particular table, the row descriptions are years and I tend to forget to go in and manually update the years in the outline each year. Typically, to add a label reference, I click on the appropriate "row" in the outline and drag and drop it over the corresponding row in the table. However, for this table it isn't working. When I drag, it never changes from the red x to the green +. I re-tagged the table using table focus mode, thinking it might be that the whole row needs to be tagged, but that didn't seem to do the trick. Any ideas why this table would be different?

Just found a workaround for this issue in another post about IF formulas. The solution was to click in the cell then go to the edit tab/insert/symbol/select wingdings in the drop down/click the special characters tab/select non breaking space/click insert symbol. Also, set the format to text. I was then able to create the label reference. It seems inserting the symbol was just a one-time thing to allow me to set up the label reference (i.e. I do not need to keep the symbol in there for it to continue updating). 0I was able to put an apostophre before the date and then attach a label reference. Then I went in a removed the apostrophe and updated label references. 0
