    Hi Inessa!

Happy to help here. I'll see if I can't replicate this.

When you "linked two cells", do you mean there were referenced in a concatenation?

    Hi Mike!

We need to create a precice copy of a report, so we used links to populate cells. A couple of cells in the source file have a leading single quote (I think it came from the excel file that was transfered to Wdesk, however we still need to replicate it). So, we tried to link values with checked/unchecked “Apply Formatting” and get the same result, the values in the destanation cells are missing the leadin quote . Is there anything else we can try to resolve this issue?

    Thank you,

    Inessa

That makes sense, and when I tested, I saw the same. I'm not sure the reason why but the application does seem to omit the leading single quote. I'll get some folks to take a look at what the reasoning is and/or if its expected.

I did find a workaround for you, however. To add a single quote, you can insert it as a symbol and it will show up and flow through your links. To do so, follow these steps.

    1. Activate your source cell and from the Edit tab, choose Insert > Symbol
    2. Next, search for "single" which pulls up the quote options
    3. Choose Right single (or Left single) quotation mark and choose Insert at the bottom
    4. The value should appear in your cell and you can link that out

Let me know if that does not work for you or you have any follow-ups. Thanks again and have a happy Friday in the meantime. Cheers!
