    Hi Dan,

You can use the same Table Text Block (Level 3 tag) within the same footnote.  When you generate XBRL at the project level, the SEC Viewer should merge the two Table Text Blocks together. However, please note that the Viewer may not display the two tables in the same order as they appear in the document. There isn’t a way to control the sequence of the merged Table Text Blocks on the Viewer, so there isn’t any further action required on your part. I’m guessing you generated XBRL at the section level and that’s why you were only seeing one table.

Let me know if you have any questions or run into any issues. Thanks Dan!

I have a related question - When I use the same Level 3 Table Text Block tag more than once in Next Gen, I am getting a Duplicate Tag Error.  How do I resolve this?  the tables are separated by large amounts of text.

    Hi Sandy!

Happy to help. In this scenario, there is a current limitation in next gen that you can not have discontinuous text block ranges of the same text block. To get around this duplicate tag error, you would need to extend the text blocks.

I can say that our Product Team is actively working on addressing this to provide the same feature parity you saw in classic. I'll keep you apprised on progress going forward there but do let me know if you have any questions for me in the meantime. Thanks again and have a happy Friday!

    Hi Sandra Britt!

Wanted to let you know a very recent release to Wdesk has addressed the limitation mentioned above meaning discontinuous text block tags are now supported in next gen. Thought I'd share with you the good news.

Give me a holler if you have any questions on the above, or need anything else. Thanks and happy Friday again. :)
