Data Prep is our Data Transformation tool that allows you to transform your data file - technically and functionally - in a single process called a Pipeline within your Chain.

Technical transformations are adjustments to your data file using operations like Insert Column, Delete Column, or Sort. Functional transformations allow you to map disparate systems to your Workiva Reporting model. These mapping relationships are stored in Data Prep Mapping Groups that you can easily define and maintain. The Mapping capabilities are powerful and display a logical layout of complex mapping relationships.

Already using Chains to manage your transformations? If your Chains make use of Tabular Transformation and/or File Utilities commands to update or transform data, Pipelines can reduce your run time by consolidating the steps into a single Run Pipeline command.
