Our finance team requires automated, repeatable delivery of complete Trial Balance (TB) data—including zero‑value intersections—into the Workiva Wdata platform to support accurate financial reporting and reduce manual effort.

Today, data flows from GL → FCCS via Data Load Rules (DLR). However, FCCS DLR and Data Integration suppress zeros by default and cannot generate zero‑value rows—a known limitation in Oracle FCCS’s data integration layer.

Only EPM Narrative Reporting (NR) can produce exports that include all entities, accounts, and 0‑value intersections.

Therefore, the required integration must use Narrative Reporting as the authoritative source for zero‑inclusive TB data, with automated ingestion into Workiva via supported.

How can we integrate all required financial data—including every entity, every account, and all 0‑value intersections—into Workiva for financial reporting?

Our goal is to move away from the current manual Trial Balance (TB) upload process and establish an automated integration that delivers a complete, zero‑inclusive dataset to Workiva.

Step-by-Step Process Logic

1. STEP 1 — Load FCCS Actuals into Workiva

• Workiva Chains ingest FCCS export files (CSV/JSON) using the Create File command. Only non-zero values are present.

2. STEP 2 — Load the Master Entity–Account Table-
   • This table defines the complete TB universe. It ensures all entities and accounts appear regardless of FCCS activity.

3. Step 3 — Wdata Prep Performs a LEFT JOIN (Key Step)
   • Wdata Prep performs a LEFT JOIN between the Master table (left side) and FCCS Actuals (right side). Workiva documentation confirms that LEFT JOIN returns all rows from the left table, even when the right table has no match. 4. Step 4 — Fill Missing Values with Zero

• In Wdata Prep, Zero Fill Logic NULL values (from missing FCCS rows) are replaced with 0 using: IF (Value IS NULL → 0)
