Linking cell text in spreadsheet to document text

I created a formula in spreadsheet to return whether a value "increased," "decreased," or "was consistent between periods."  My goal with this was to link this to an explanation in the financial document (ie Net revenues increased $XXM for the three months ended June 30,2018 as compared with the same period last year.)  I am able to link the number, but when I try to link the text, it creates a table in the document.

    I've experienced this as well, although i haven't seen it happen in a while.  I'm not sure why it went away.  As a quick fix, I recall that if i linked the cell prior to adding the if/then formula, it would link properly, and then I could go add back the formula (i.e. type "increase" in the cell, link, and then add the formula).
