New "Overlay" in documents

I may be missing it, but isn't the newly announced Overlay functionality in Documents just another way to turn on Authorship within the right-side History menu?

    Hi Pat,

    Sorry for our delay here. I was chasing down a bit of info for you on what we are seeing now with Overlays in Workiva.

    Released in August were the additional Overlay options for Documents and Presentations of "Entered In, Shown In, or Formula Precision". These were previously only in Spreadsheets Overlays. Also very recently added were Value Format Overlays, which highlights Styles used.

    These Overlays let you quickly check through your document to make sure every piece of content has the right and formatting expected, ensuring consistency with easy to read visual scans. 

    TL;DR - these changes are in addition to the Authorship found within the panel, but adds more options for what you want to highlight when reviewing your file.
