Blacklines Between Documents
ConcluídaWe need a good way to run blacklines between documents that are not available in the history. For example, we provide our Board a blackline of Q2 current year to Q2 of the prior year. The only way for us currently to run a blackline is to download the documents to word and then run a blackline. Unfortunately, the word document truncates some of the numbers, words, etc.

Hi Wes! As of yet this feature is not globally available and only accessible via the beta setting. I can request this to be enabled for you, if you'd like. Just let me know and I'll get things going on my end.

Any update on when the final version will be available? It seems to have been stuck in beta mode for a long time. We really want to use the functionality but we can't rely on the beta version given its ongoing issues e.g. it shows some differences that don't exist (e.g. narrative in table lines, or other times it seems to be comparing entirely different sections/content), and not showing all differences e.g. footnotes.

Mike, I was wondering the same as Julian. We have quite a few issues with the feature. If footnotes are added/deleted in one document, it's very confused about how to blackline those. If the footnote numbering is off, it doesn't work well so we are having problems relying on it and so are our auditors. Any idea when it will be a final version with the bugs worked out?

Thanks for the question, and the feedback here. As far as general availability right now this functionality is not planned for Q4 release, so at this point is likely for 2023 at some point. During this time time, however, we do hope to work out the kinks you are finding, so thanks for letting us know. I will pass these instances along to our developers for sure.

Hi Mike - I have the ability to compare and blackline separate documents in some workspaces, but not all. How do I activate this functionality in other workspaces?

If you'd like this feature enabled on more Workspaces, you'd just need to let us know which ones and we can get those added on our end to get enabled. I've drummed up a ticket for you to request those. We'd only need the names of them.

Hi Josh Nicholas It doesn’t look like the ability to export blacklines to Word is possible at this time. However, this feature has been requested to be added and is currently proposed with our development team.
