How to Automate monthly Spreadsheet copies with Chains or API?
Udzielono odpowiedziI need to automate monthly backups of key spreadsheets for audit and compliance. The goal is to automatically create a full copy (snapshot) of a spreadsheet each month—before any new data is added—using either Chains or the Workiva API.
I have searched for relevant connectors and reviewed the API documentation but haven’t found any option to programmatically duplicate a spreadsheet on a schedule. Manual copying is possible in the UI, but for robust audit control, we require a no-touch, scheduled, and repeatable process.
Questions:
Is there a way to automate spreadsheet (or file) copying with Chains or the API today?
If not, are there any recommended workarounds or best practices for audit backups and periodic spreadsheet snapshots?
Has anyone found a creative method to achieve this in their environment?
Any suggestions or official updates would be really appreciated.

Happy Friday!! I have found this information for you:
"The Prototype API Initiate a File Copy endpoint will let you copy a spreadsheet, and you can absolutely automate that through Chains. You’d just need to set up a scheduled run so the copy happens automatically each month."
