When would a vlookup function in Spreadsheets return "null"?

I'm trying to debug a formula (cross sheet, same file) that should be returning a date but it keeps giving me "null" in the target cell.  Same behavior with =match

    Hi Matthew!

    Regarding your NULL issue, that is certainly weird. In Wdesk, you can trying changing the format of the cells in question to Date to see if that resolves the null issue.
