XBRL Validation Warning EFM.6.05.14 hidden-cover-page-fact-not-referenced

Greetings,

 

I'm encountering a strange validation warning this quarter that I have not encountered previously, note that this is using iXBRL.

"An unexpected error occured, please contact your Customer Success Manager [EFM.6.05.14 hidden-cover-page-fact-not-referenced]

then it references every extensible list I have tagged in the parenthetical section as well as the commitments and contingencies tag also in the parenthetical section.

Has anyone encountered this before? Should I be concerned about this message?

    Hi Kurtis!

    When using iXBR, it is expected that disclosures will be tagged in the document. If you are working in next gen, check out this article on "Creating Multiple Links Inside a Cell" that can allow for tagging parenthetical information within the document: https://success.workiva.com/help/links/creating-multiple-links-inside-a-cell.

    That being said, there are some scenarios (like tagging extensible lists) in which a non-printing or parenthetical section are needed to capture disclosures. In those scenarios, this warning can be ignored.
