Hi Steven, the Workiva Connector allow you to use the Create file and Import file into table commands. You can input the Client ID and Client Secret into the Workiva Connector. The Client ID and Client Secret are generated by creating an OAuth2 Grant. Step by step instructions on creating and configuring the Workiva Connector can be found at https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045097312-Workiva-connector and instructions on creating an OAuth2 Grant can be found at https://developers.workiva.com/workiva-platform/reference/platform-setup#oauth2-grants.

I am creating a second chain in a different workspace, can I simply use the same ID and Secret from the other Chain.  I really do not understand the purpose for the client id and secret.  When do you create multiple client ids and when would you share?

    Hi Steven,

Client IDs and Secrets are essentially a user name and password.  These items are entered in the Connection section of Chains.  They provide the information needed to allow the Chain to interact with the rest of the Workiva platform (ex: spreadsheets, Wdata) for a single Workspace.  If you have multiple Workiva Workspaces, then you would need multiple Connections each with their specific ID & secret specified.  If you are trying to interact with multiple tables within the same Workspace, only one connection is necessary and it can be reused to interact with any of the components within that workspace.
