    Hi Andrew,

    Great question!

To answer your first question, yes, next gen does support .jpeg image formats to be inserted. It will support .gif, .jpg and .png as well.

Furthermore, as you point out, while next gen will allow file types like .jpeg and .png, both of those are NOT supported by EDGAR. From a technical standpoint, .jpeg and .jpg are the same kind of file format, but the SEC's a bit picky on the extension. As you point out, the only two image formats that are would be .gif and .jpg (per EFM Vol. II Sec. If your next gen filing contained either a .jpeg or .png, you would get a validation message from Wdesk warning of a suspended filing.

Note that if you had a .jpeg file in your filing package, simply renaming a file from .jpeg or .png to .jpg (or .gif) would not resolve the issue. You'd need to download the image, re-save on your machine as an acceptable format, re-upload to go through the filing wizard and update the image.

Hope this helps answer your question. Do let me know if you have any further questions or need assistance. Thanks and happy Friday!

    Hi Andrew!

Wanted to provide a quick update here. We recently pushed out a release to help address this .jpeg vs. jpg debacle in next gen. Now, Wdesk will automatically adjust the filename extension of an imported .jpeg file to be .jpg. This change won't impact the look or feel of the image at all, but will sure the image is acceptable for SEC submission, which only looks to see if the image types end in .gif or .jpg.

Let me know if there are any questions, of if you need anything else. Thanks much and have a super weekend!
