Can spreadsheets be connected directly to an Access database to retrieve financial data?

Curious if there was already a connector made for Access to bypass using Excel as our data sync intermediary.  Thanks!

    Thanks for the question, Ben!

    Since Access files are locally stored, there isn't really a way for Wdesk to integrate with them via a connector. However, if you are feeding Access from a separate database, Wdesk could potentially connect to that database and run SQL queries off of that and then replicate your Access output in that way. This is most likely ideal for queries that don't change often. The data itself can change, just not the query itself. It would not be ideal for lots of slicing and dicing, so to speak.

    There was a bit of technical jargon there but should you have any questions for me, let me know.     Hi Ben,

    Wdata Chains has a generic JDBC Connector that allows Chains to connect to relational database that exist on-premises.  I did a little research and it seems that there is a JAR file available that will allows you to connect to an Access database through the JDBC protocol (https://www.codejava.net/java-se/jdbc/java-jdbc-example-connect-to-microsoft-access-database).  

    You could create a Chain using the JDBC Connector to source data from Access and load to Wdata or to a Wsheet.
