For the record, the error message on that command is always the following:

Result: Error checking connection refresh status: An error was encountered while running the operation.

Michael Cahill - Have you tried create an "Outgoing" connection from the spreadsheet to the table if you are trying to update the table with spreadsheet data. That is usually the recommended practice when refreshing through the chains process.

Ankit Shrivastava - Thanks for your quick response and suggestion. Taking your advice, I just went ahead and tried that (deleted prior connections, rebuilt as an outgoing connection from the spreadsheet).

When I use the chain refresh command to make the update, or try to refresh the outgoing connection (by clicking the refresh outgoing connection button), I get this error.

Bizarrely, when I initiate the connection from the WData side (by clicking the refresh dataset connection), it succeeds.

Yes, this seems to be an issue.

Also, thank you for using the community!  This appears to be something that we'll need the support and engineering teams to evaluate.  Can you please open a ticket by using the Support -> Create a Ticket menu in the header or you can email support@workiva.com or call at one of the numbers listed on the support page.

To close this out: After contacting Workiva Support, the solution was to update the Workiva 'Refresh Connection' command in the chain to have a destination parameter with a key "fileName" and value "test". Rationale as to why this worked has not yet been provided - if it is, I will share.
