    Hi Andreia Cardoso,

There is not a way to automatically lock cells upon task approval. A common workaround I see is for customers to use outline label automations to lock the section once everything has been provided or approved. However, this can be less valuable when there are several different assignees or approvers in one sheet.

To address this common customer problem, our Sustainability team will be releasing an upcoming feature improvement that your CSM can provide more details on. I'll reach out to your CSM and have them connect with you!

We locked our data cells down using the "lock" feature. Will this reopen when we roll forward the data collection template or does the same person have to "unlock" the data?

    Hi Jessica Davis

Great question. When you roll forward a data collection template, you are essentially creating a clean copy of the prior year's file. Because it's a new copy, the "locked" functionality doesn't carry over, meaning you won't need to manually unlock the new file to get started, but your historical file remains locked.

Speaking of locked files, I wanted to highlight a relevant feature we released earlier this spring. You can now maintain more control of revisions of you collected values while still allowing for last-minute updates, and the system will automatically flag those changes for your review so nothing slips by.

You can learn more about this functionality and our new Program Health features in the April Sustainability Release Notes.

I’d love to hear if this new feature helps streamline your workflow, or if you run into any questions as you set up this year's templates!
