Tagging a period in the document
I have recently switched to Next Gen and have been able to get rid of nearly all of my phantom tags and hidden fact warnings. I am left with one hidden fact warning that I was hoping for some advice as to how I can get it tagged in the document vs. continuing with the hidden tag. This is for the employee benefit plans and the sentence reads "...employee is eligible for the 401k plan starting on the first day of the month following their hire date." Here I am trying to tag the period of time before the employee becomes eligible. Basically, the period can be anywhere from one day (if the employee is hired on the 31st of the month they become eligible on the 1st day of the following month) or 31 days (if they are hired on the first of a month they have to wait until the 1st of the following month to become eligible). Historically, we have used the tag "Deferred Compensation Arrangement with individual, Requisite Service Period" and the tagged amount was 1 month. However, now, if I want to tag in the document on the actual sentence, the word "month" will change to "one month" due to the ISO format. So, the sentence will now read as "employee is eligible for the 401k plan starting on the first day of the one month following their hire date" which doesn't sound right. Is there a way to still have it tagged in the document, but only show "month" without the preceding word "one"?

A fabulous question, as always. I pinged our experts here and have the following tips for you.You may also want to consult with your legal team on this interpretation, but we would suggest that you not tag anything in this case. Since nowhere in your disclosure do you state that the service period is "one month" and do not have a disclosed value that can be tagged , XBRL should only reflect what is disclosed in the document, not provide other information (or approximate information) that is not in the actual document. This is per er EFM 6.6.22 the required tagging is for "each monetary value, percentage, and number". They do not provide a number in the document--not 1 day, 15 days, 31 days, or 1 month.
