Managing Templates
'In our previous system, we had one central template that we could create individual requests each quarter and push out to the countries automatically in one step. With the current set up, we have to copy and maintain 80+ separate templates with 10+ unique outgoing connections within each template. This requires heavy manual labor by Corporate each quarter to prep the templates and any necessary changes that we didn't have to do in our previous system (even outside what has been linked to the central template for us). We need a better way to modify template for instances where we have to add a new row or column or even a new A Schedule to the template. If we have to manually make those changes to the 80+ individual templates, it's not going to work for our needs. While the template is currently linking a lot of the verbage and framework to the individual country templates, we are looking for a way to also "link" formulas for any modifications we made need in the future. For example, we realized one formula excluded two rows. Rather than updating in the central template and having it flow through the countries' workbooks automatically (like it would in our previous system), we had to manually update the formula in each template individually. Also concerned with cases of having to add a new entity and creating template while also updating the "HFM Legal Entities" and Data Source information.

Hi Jackie!
Thanks for the question. I chatted briefly with our experts on this one and can at least say there are things that could be done to help alleviate the pain points your are experiencing and added to the Chain that is built. However, as it sits now there's not a direct feature per se to address this and these changes may require an assist from your CSM and our Solutions Architect (SA) team.
Sorry I couldn't provide any more answers than that. Do let me know if you have any follow-ups or need help getting in touch with your CSM or an SA to discuss further. Thanks again and have a great day!
0Hello again, Jackie!
After re-reading your question here, I am realizing you might be talking about templates for Spreadsheets, as you mention formulas. If that is the case, the use of Chains or Wdata wouldn't apply here, though similarly our Solutions Architects team might have insights on bulk updates to those templates.
Apologies for any confusion. Let me know if you have any follow-ups for me or need anything else. Chat soon!
