We have split our curriculum into Level 1 and Level 2 paths. This allows you to build a solid foundation at your own pace, or take your skills to the next level through an interactive, collaborative cohort environment.

Best for: Learners who need foundational skills or a flexible, self-paced refresher.

Time Commitment: ~3 hours (Self-paced)

What you’ll learn: This standalone path replaces the legacy Advanced Design Reporting course. It covers document importing, on-platform layout, and troubleshooting across 5 key modules.

The Outcome: Earners will master foundational expertise to execute high-impact layouts and sophisticated designs, ensuring your technical reports are polished and visually compelling.

Level 2: Draft to Delivery (The Cohort Experience)

Best for: Learners ready to deeply apply their skills, practice in real-world scenarios, and get direct feedback from Workiva experts.

Time Commitment: Multi-week cohort experience

What you’ll learn: Designing effective reports requires hands-on practice. This high-touch, collaborative cohort combines self-paced learning with guided practice, live sessions, and expert feedback so you can build reports with absolute confidence.

The Outcome: By completing the cohort, you will earn both the Level 1 and Level 2 digital badges, distinguishing yourself as an On-Platform Designed Reporting Practitioner capable of delivering advanced, publication-ready reports.

Why we redesigned this experience

We restructured this journey to reflect how design skills are actually built. While foundational concepts can be learned through self-paced videos, mastering designed reporting requires hands-on application and feedback.

At the same time, we know flexibility is key. If you don't have the time for a multi-week cohort, Level 1 remains fully available as a standalone option to complete whenever fits your schedule.
