    As someone who used to do graphic design work, I think I've thought about this more than most.

    In presentations, I prefer to use PNG at 300dpi. I think that's a nice balance between file size and image quality.

    In SEC EDGAR docs, you're limited to JPG and GIF. PNG is not allowed. JPG works great for photos, and I stick with 300dpi. GIF works great for line art, forms, drawings and signatures, keeping the images crisp with super low file sizes, but GIF doesn't work well for photos. If I need to batch compress JPGs (e.g. officer and director photos), I've been using IrfanView.

    As time goes on, I find I'm worried about how it looks on paper a lot less, and more about how it will look on a high resolution iPad.
