External links in Imported Excel formulas
Hi,
I Imported an Excel file (.xlsx) into a Wdesk Spreadsheet with cells linked to other files saved in my local PC. Workiva shows the imported cells with #SHEET in spite of keeping the link to my locally saved files. Is there any other way to keep those links "alive" within Workiva?
Regards,
Ibon

Hello and welcome to the Community, Ibon!
Thanks for sharing. Good question.
From a technical standpoint, you cannot connect Workiva files directly to a location on your machine. What is supported is either importing an XLSX or CSV into a Spreadsheet, or using Wdesk Sync. Cross-sheet formulas are also supported, but not cross-file formulas.
Import to a Spreadsheet: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035643172-Create-or-Import-a-Spreadsheet
Wdesk Sync: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035643192-Wdesk-Sync-for-Spreadsheets
Cross-sheet formulas: https://support.workiva.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035643052-Use-formulasIn addition to those function, you CAN connect to another sheet in another Workspace (or the same Workspace) using Shared Sheet Data. Another option could be to access data using Wdata, has available connections out of the box, or even API connections.

0Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for such a thorough response. I will test each of the alternatives and let you know if I have further questions.
